Citizen Ride-A-Long Program
Would you like to spend a day with your fire department?
We are offering our welcome to you, the citizens of Portsmouth, to ride with us
for a shift at the station of your choice. We feel that offering you the opportunity to spend time
with us as we go about our normal day-to-day activities gives both you and our firefighters a chance
to communicate concerns and create a common understanding of how the department and the city works.
There are a few requirements that must be met for this program:
-
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be able to present valid photo identification.
-
Applicants must sign a liability release holding the department and the city harmless in the event of injury or illness during the visit.
-
Visits are limited to the hours between 08:00 am and 10:00 pm.
-
Guests must agree to be briefed on and follow certain safety and privacy requirements that must be met during the visit.
-
Guests must wear long pants, shirts with sleeves and athletic footwear during the visit.
These requirements are necessary for the safety of our guests and the host companies, and to
ensure that the privacy of our customers is protected.
If you are interested in the Ride-A-Long
program, please fill out the information below and a fire
official will contact you to provide further information on the
program.
We hope to hear from you soon!
