Neighborhood Beautification Program
The Portsmouth Neighborhood Beautification Program creates a
partnership between participating neighborhoods and the City. It
serves to benefit both the City and the neighborhood by
providing a means for neighborhood entrances and green spaces to
be maintained attractively, in an efficient, cost effective
manner.
The program is based upon a formal contractual agreement between
the City and neighborhood groups. The objectives of the program
are to improve the appearance of public neighborhood green space
and create neighborhood stewardship of the area, while fostering
a sense of unity between the City and the neighborhood.
